About Us

Cheap Student Wheels was established on the Gold Coast, QLD in 2010 by a small group of Bond University students who wanted to provide a safe and trustworthy avenue for their fellow students to purchase and rent vehicles.

The company has quickly grown from its very humble beginnings at Bond, to an organisation that now proudly operates out of Griffith University, Southern Cross University, The University of Queensland (UQ) and Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

Why buy/rent cars from Cheap Student Wheels?

Warranty

All cars we sell come with a 1,000km guarantee to be free from defect. If you have any mechanical issues with your car we will have it repaired at one of our two fully equipped workshops either on the Gold Coast or in Brisbane. For only $150 per month you can extend your warranty for your peace of mind.

Safety Certificate/ Road Worthy Certificate

We ensure all cars we sell come with a valid and current Safety Certificate or Road Worthy Certificate (RWC). This means that your new car has been examined by an authorised Queensland Government approved mechanic and ownership can be transferred without any further mechanical work. Often un-suspecting students will buy a car that does not have this certificate and are then required to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on repair work before they are able to get the Safety Certificate and transfer the car into their name.

Free PPSR Certificate

PPSR stands for Personal Property Securities Register and without a PPSR certificate you may not know if you are buying a car that:

1. Is on the stolen vehicle register
2. Has been involved in a major accident and has been ‘written off’
3. Has outstanding money owing on from previous owner.

Buy-back guarantee

It is usually more beneficial to sell your car privately when you no longer need it. Look after your car and it will be worth good money when it comes time to sell. If you don’t want to sell privately, Cheap Student Wheels will be more than happy to buy your car back! Just give us a little notice and we can arrange cash for you when its time to fly home.

Paperwork assistance

Our friendly team will take the time to help you with all the necessary paperwork involved when buying a car. We understand things are done differently from country to country. We are here to help! Cheap Student Wheels can also help you set up insurance (starts at only $15 per month) and roadside assistance.

After Sale Care

If you ever need any servicing on your vehicle we can assist. We have two fully equipped workshops in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast and qualified motor mechanics ready to get your car back on the road. We guarantee the lowest prices on parts and labour!

We come to you

We understand that it can be hard to find a car when you don’t have a car to get around. We will come to you so you can inspect some options and take your new set of wheels for a test drive.
